Tik Tok Trend- Devious Licks

TikTok trends come and go, they make us smile and laugh. But lately, it seems like things may have gone too far. The new TikTok “devious licks” trend is definitely the topic of conversation right now. What started off with stealing school soap dispensers has turned into a full-blown

vandalizing frenzy in schools around the country. So where did this idea start

? Just a month into school a student posted a video of himself that went viral showing a box of disposable masks he claims he stole from his school, and well, you know what happened then.
Our school has seen its share of the trends as restrooms have been vandalized, shut down, and talk of Porta Potties is all over campus. Sophomore, Alondra Serrato said, “I saw the trend on TikTok awhile back, and I realized that people were doing it in our own school restrooms.” Sadly, because of the students participating in this trend on our campus, restrooms have been closed and people who didn’t participate in the trend have to suffer not having a nice bathroom.
The TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew has said that they (TikTok) have blocked all content and hashtags as well as removing videos, searches, and hashtags that are related to “devious licks”, and USA Today has reported that police across the country have begun arresting and charging students accused in participating in the acts of theft and vandalism- and the thing is, they have video proof!
