As fourth quarter begins, we are welcoming a new assistant principal to our administration team at Porterville High School. Mrs. Ramirez brings with her years of various experiences and lots of enthusiasm. She’s also no stranger to the Panther family, as one of her children attended PHS and she served on our School Site Council as a parent representative. How cool, right?! We had the opportunity to sit down with Mrs. Ramirez for an interview, and we had fun getting to know her. Check it out:
How are you enjoying PHS so far?
“Its already very fun. I’m so excited for this big campus, and the kids are so friendly already. I had a few introduce themselves to me and greet me. Everyone is so welcoming.”
What did you do before becoming an administrator?
“I started my career in 1997, and I was a teacher at Monte Vista Elementary School for 16 years. Then, I went back to school to get my master’s degree in administrative services because I knew I wanted to be on the education pathway. For five years I was at Granite Hills High School as the Director of Comp Ed/Special Projects. I’ve spent the last few years as an assistant principal at Granite Hills High School.”
What are you bringing to PHS?
“Right now I am really hoping to create relationships with students and staff as well. Once I create those relationships, I can help people succeed in what they need. I love helping people so getting to help anyone fill anything like a void makes me happy.”
We are so excited that you are joining our staff, Mrs. Ramirez!
If you see Mrs. Ramirez on campus, please say hello and introduce yourself! Let’s all continue to give her a warm Panther welcome.
