The 2025 boys’ and girls’ water polo season went amazing. Although neither team reached the finals, it was still a successful season for both the girls’ and boys’ water polo teams at PHS. The boys did not go down without a fight. They fought for so long that they ended up making it to the semifinals, which is honestly really amazing for the team because they fought so hard.

What made this season extra special was the teamwork and dedication from both the girls’ and boys’ teams. They worked together as a team, and that is what matters. It was a season full of progress and strength. “Overall, it was a great season. We had a good winning streak, we made it to the semifinals, and it could have gone way worse,” said center forward Nathan Mitchell. Since both the boys and girls made it to the semifinals, that achievement alone shows how hard they worked. It proves that it is not only about winning, but also about the friendships and teamwork you build along the way. “Beating Redwood was tough, but overall, the season was fun. It was a good season,” said Samantha Cox.

Both the girls’ and boys’ water polo teams reached the semifinals this season, an exciting accomplishment that brought pride to the entire school. Throughout months of early morning practices and late-night conditioning, the athletes showed relentless determination and a commitment to improving every day. Team leaders such as captains, goalkeepers, and senior starters worked especially hard, setting the tone by pushing their teammates, staying focused, and showing up with a positive attitude even on the toughest days. Younger players also stepped up, learning quickly, supporting each other, and proving that effort matters just as much as experience.

Their success was the result of everyone working together, encouraging one another, and refusing to give up. Coaches guided the teams with patience and strategy, helping the players grow not just as athletes but as teammates. In the end, both squads demonstrated that hard work, unity, and trust can carry a team far, and their semifinal run is something the whole school can celebrate.

Ultimately, the water polo season was spectacular with a great amount of power, hard work and teamwork that lots of people enjoyed watching and cheering for.
