PHS AERO pathway students recently built these awesome mini book libraries in Mr. Young’s woodshop class. These libraries were built with weather resistant, quality wood shingles and paint for long lasting durability. The interior is very spacious and can hold plenty of books. They also feature a sturdy door with quality hardware, and you can even add your own lock if desired. Every purchase supports the PHS AERO pathway program and students.
When asked about this project and what it meant to him, Mr. Young said, “Im a bit overwhelmed right now because we only made 5 and have 20 orders, but that’s a good thing because this is for the kids. I’m just here doing my job.” All 5 have been sold, and more mini libraries will be made next school year to fill those orders. Some will also be made during summer camp.

If you have ordered one and are looking for books, there is a man named Tim Baker here in Porterville who stores many books in the old Pizza Hut on Olive. If you want to give away books, exchange books, or even get some books, that is the place to go. He also builds mini libraries and sells them in honor of the two firefighters, Patrick Jones and Captain Raymond Figueroa, who sadly passed away in the library fire a couple years ago.
If you would like to buy a mini book library for $100, contact Mr. Young at [email protected].
