Folklorico and Art

Last Friday and Saturday, May 13th-14th, our art program hosted the last Folklorico show with its first-ever jointed art show in the Buck Shaffer Auditorium. Mr. Gonzales and Mrs. Seitz paired these two branches of the art program to initially honor Mr. Gonzales’s retirement; instead, they came together to create a new art tradition. They presented Mr. Gonzales’s young dance classes on Friday and featured Monache High School, Granite Hills High School, and Porterville High School on Saturday. Since the tickets were sold exclusively for the Folklorico show, family, friends, and any other supporters of the Folklorico dancers were welcome to enjoy and purchase the art displayed in the lobby. All purchases of the art went directly to the artist and they successfully sold a few pieces. The lower classmen are now looking forward to the next year’s show.
