October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At Porterville High School this month there are a lot of activities going on to help not only create awareness of this disease but to raise money to benefit Breast Cancer Research too.

  • Tuesday, October 4th, “Pink Out” volleyball game vs Monache (Show up wearing as much pink as possible and sit in the hype squad section.) Frosh at 4:30 pm, JV at 5:30 pm, and Varsity at 7 pm
  • ASB is selling PINK OUT Spirit shirts in room S-3 at brunch and lunch. The cost is $20…….for every shirt sold, $5.00 will go to our fabulous FFA in support of their LOCK IN FOR LIFE!!!

  • This year, an estimated 43,550 women will die from breast cancer in the U.S.
  • There are over 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.
  • On average, every 2 minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States.
  • Although rare, men get breast cancer too. In 2022, an estimated 2,710 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the U.S. and approximately 530 men will die from breast cancer.
