Seniors Kailey Cha and Davina Lopez were honored before the game started against Delano.

On Monday October 18th the volleyball played the Delano Tigers. Also, for the first time in a while the JV team was able to come back and play after being quarantined. The previous Friday not even half of the JV squad was able to practice. Being cleared by Monday meant the girls had very few full-team practices, and they had to win to uphold their League record.
Frosh started off the program with a win. The team was energetic and every player was engaged in the game. They went 2-0 against Delano with amazing hits, defense and serves to set the tempo. Both games were in our hands from the start to the end.
JV was nervous off the court, but as soon as they stepped on the court they were ready to go. It honestly looked like they hadn’t missed a beat. They also went 2-0 defeating Delano for the second time in League. The girls hustled for every tip, hit, and free-ball that Delano served up and their strong defense enabled the offense to come out on top.
Varsity had an exciting night all-around. It was Senior Night. The two seniors, Kailey Cha and Davina Lopez were honored before the game started, you can check out the Panther Volleyball Instagram for those photos. Secondly the girls defeated Delano in three straight sets. This wiped clean the losing Monday streak the team had been on, losing the last two Mondays in a row. The girls recognized this as a weak element in their game plan and worked hard over the weekend to prepare for a day they usually play down. When the first set started they let Delano take the lead but eventually caught up and pushed strong for three set wins in a row. The girls’hitting and serving made the offense really strong, and the back row’s defenseset the team up for success. The crowd, coaches, and players were all happy to walk away with a win.
