Activities To Do In October

Spooky Season has officially begun, and although we tend to think there is nothing to do in this town, there are actually quite a few things planned around the community that are affordable and sometimes even FREE!  The Porterville Public Library is hosting Tween/ Teen-Tober. From October 7th until October 28th there are crafting activities planned at the newly opened space, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Galaxy 9 Theaters is holding a”Spooky Series” event where they will be showing family-friendly Halloween films for only $2 per person. October 28th Porterville Chrysler will be holding a “TRUNK OR TREAT” open to the public, with vendors and games. Reyes Nursery in Terra Bella is celebrating its 20th anniversary on October 29th with a farmers market, live music, and a pumpkin patch on October 29th. Changla’s Pumpkin Patch is always a popular place in October, with a $2 per person admission fee there are plenty of activities and photo opportunities to have a good time with family or friends. (On a side note, this is the last year that they will be open, after 31 years.)

This weekend October 15th- Springville is hosting its annual Apple Festival from 9 am to 4 pm activities include a 5K Run/Walk, booths with food and vendors, costume contests, and plenty of fun. There is no admission cost for this event, additional info can be found at www.SpringvilleAppleFestival.com.
