The Orange & Green

    A week at Scicon

From September 18 to September 22, 2023, I went to Scicon as a counselor. I had the pleasure of interacting and making new friends. What is Scicon? Scicon stands for The Clemmie Gill School of Science and Conservation. It is a nature and STEM outdoor school located in Springville, CA, created to educate students more about greenery and how to care for the environment. The campus consists of 1100 acres and has many fun activities for the students, such as trails, museums, and observatories of different animals. I saw many animals like deer, plentiful birds, insects, and stunning trees and plants. The elective trail I went on was Quartz Mine, where I got to find and take a pretty rock home. I had the time of my life watching their plays and night activities, such as astrology night, where we were taught about constellations and the myths surrounding them. Learning new facts about the environment and how to save the Earth from becoming a harmful and unlivable place was a joy.
