On Thursday, November 16th, the AERO ladies went on a field trip to a “Women in Trades” event. They participated in workshops facilitated by trade and industry professionals. The Women In Trades event was geared towards young women who are interested in various trades and industries, as they are often a minority in the field. The event was meant to raise exposure to various trades and to allow our students the opportunity to interact with industry professionals. The students experienced cutting metal, pouring cement, and connecting circuits. Many also thought that it was a good way to see different trade jobs offered to women. Notably, AERO is gearing up to start a Women in Trades club to empower and support our AERO ladies. More information on that to come, so stay tuned.
Thank you to Ms. Avina, Ms. Ball and Ms. Avila for taking students on the The Women in Trades trip.
