On January 7, 2025 multiple wild fires had spread in Los Angeles and destroyed many homes and affected countless lives. Around 23,000 acres of land had been destroyed from the fires. There were many evacuation orders sent out to neighborhoods for people’s safety. Unfortunately, a large number of people who did not have time to evacuate have lost their homes and personal belongings. Many people have come together to help donate food and other items for the victims and the hard working firefighters. On January 25, 2025, Red Cross and several clubs from Porterville High School like Z-Club, HOSA and ASB had teamed up and invited the whole school to participate in the L.A Fires Donation Drive for the Orange and Green. We were able to collect a total of 565 items to give to those in need. All of the items we had collected were donated to the Red Cross.
