The different things students are giving up for Lent
Lent is a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It’s a period to celebrate Lord’s Resurrection at Easter. The 40 days represent the time Jesus spent in the Wilderness, enduring the temptation of Satan and preparing to begin his ministry.

“I am giving up soda.”

“For lent I am giving up social media and cursing. These are the things I struggle with and use on a daily basis, so I can’t wait to begin this journey.”

“For lent I am giving up soda, and spending less time on social media.”

“For lent I will be giving up chips and fast food.”

“For lent I will be giving up candy.”
