World Wildlife Day

World Wildlife Day was proclaimed to be on March 3rd when the United Nations General Assembly passed it on December 20th, 2013 at their 68th session. UNGA also made it for global observance for wildlife to be on the UN calendar; it’s now become the most global annual event dedicated to wildlife. This day is designated to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. The assembly has themes for the day each year it comes around and this year’s theme is “Safeguarding key species for ecosystem restoration”. They hope to draw attention to the conservation status of the most critically endangered species to help conserve them. You can celebrate and get involved by spreading this year’s theme, sharing posts on your social media and educating yourself about all the endangered species there are out there. The top ten endangered animals are, Javan Rhinoceros, Vaquita, Mountain Gorilla, Tiger, Asian Elephant, Orangutans, Leatherback Turtles and Snow Leopards. “World Wildlife Day” will be live streaming tomorrow on YouTube and you are welcome to check it out at  https://www.youtube.com/c/WorldWildlifeDay2022/live
