With September already here, Hispanic Heritage Month comes along with it. Hispanic Heritage Month commences on September 15 and concludes on October 15. Did you know President Ronald Regan helped expand this holiday into a whole month since it only used to be a week-long event? This month celebrates Hispanic and Latino generations’ different diversities, traditions, and cultures. It is also a way to learn how these countries have impacted the United States and its economy and culture. Along with this, many countries have their Independence Day around the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. For example, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua have their Independence Anniversary on September 15, while Mexico celebrates it on September 16 and Chile on September 18.
