The MLB has been around for many years. The organization was founded in the year 1876 in Cincinnati, Ohio but the first World Series was played in 1903. The first game of this series between the Boston Americans and the Pittsburgh Pirates was held on October 1st, 1903 at the Huntington Avenue Grounds in Boston. The Pirates took the first game of the series 7-3 with right fielder Jimmy Sebring hitting the first home run of the series. On top of hitting the first home run, Sebring also drove in 4 of the 7 runs responsible for carrying his team to victory. The Pirates would start off strong leading the series 3 games to 1 but in game 4 the Boston Americans would get their momentum rolling by quieting the Pirates bats only allowing 2 runs while the Americans would go on and score 11 runs. Just as any team would imagine it the Americans would be down in the series but end up coming back from a 3 to 1 deficit defeating the Pirates in game 8, 3-0 to clinch the World Series Title. 

Baseball has come a long way from when the first baseball championship was won. Out of the 30 teams in the MLB only 6 of those teams have yet to win the World Series. Those teams are the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Rays, Colorado Rockies, Seattle Mariners, and finally the Texas Rangers. All 6 teams have only played in a combined total of 7 World Series even though teams have competed for the Championship 117 times. The most recent winner of The Commissioner’s Trophy was the Atlanta Braves in 2021, winning the series against the Houston Astros 4-2. The Astros are currently competing for the trophy against the Philadelphia Phillies. Game 6 is being played November 5th, 2022. The Astros lead the series 3-2. If the Astros keep up the great pitching and the momentum they will surely win the pennant in game 6. Who do you think will win the 2022 World Series?
