Panthers Roll to Playoffs

Manny Santoyo

The Panthers run on to the field at the 53rd Annual Granite Bowl.

After a dominant win over our cross-town rivals, the Panthers improve to a record of 9-1 ending Monache’s season and playoff contention with a record of 2-8. The Panthers rolled to another win defeating Monache 55-7 successfully keeping “The Rock” another year. With the regular season coming to an end, the Panthers prepare for their first playoff game. Our Panthers are seeded No.2 and will face No.15 Independence High School of Bakersfield at Rankin Stadium this Friday, November 4, 2022, at 7 pm. Independence enters the playoffs with a record of 3-6 and 1-4 in league play after losing their last regular season game to Bakersfield Christian 35-14. The playoffs are very important games as they are single-elimination rounds, which means if a team loses their season ends.

The Panthers have made it a point to make an impact this year, and their 9-1 record demonstrates that. After being eliminated in the first round of playoffs last year, the Panthers are looking to extend their playoff with the same mindset they have approached their entire season with, “All In” as their motto and this Friday will be no different, the Panthers will have home-field advantage and hope to have as many supporters as possible in the stands. Come out and support our football team, be part of the hype squad and make some noise. While you’re there you’ll also be able to enjoy the cheer team and hear our band play its memorable music during breaks and during the halftime show.
