The 2021 Porterville High School Homecoming King and Queen, Andrew Duran and Emily Rangel.

After a two week delay, due to unhealthy air quality caused by the Windy Fire, our Homecoming Royalty winners were finally announced during the halftime show of the “Pink-Out” game versus Tulare Union, October 15.
The candidates and their escorts took to the track at Rankin Stadium during half time and as their bios were read over the loudspeaker and they made their way to the 50 yard line to await the “big announcement.”
Crowned as the 2021 Homecoming Prince and Princess was, Alexander Chavez and America Rojas. Andrew Duran was crowned Homecoming King. Immediately after being announced he said, “I feel exhilarated, I can’t breathe. It felt amazing walking out there and hearing how many people love and support you. I thank them all so much. The Homecoming experience was a little stressful at first and there were some things that were last minute, but I really enjoyed it. Doing everything in a wheelchair didn’t seem worth it until this moment which was amazing. I would like to thank all the teachers that nominated me and all the people who voted for me. Thank you for all the support during the dances and all my family and friends. Thank you to everyone who came to the game.”
Emily Rangel was “suprised” and “happy” when she was announced the 2021 Homecoming Queen. “I was a little stressed during the homecoming experience, but I’m so grateful for the friends that I have and my family for sure. I loved the hype. I would like to thank all the teachers that nominated me, my closest friends that helped me throughout all of this, and thank you to everyone who voted for me. Thank you so much.”
After the Homecoming announcements were made, all of the candidates took pictures with their friends, family and each other posting messages of thanks and gratitude on their social media.
