This week, Z-Club invites the entire School Community to stand together to say one powerful word: “No.” No to fear. No to silence. No to domestic violence.
Across the Nation, the numbers tell a painful truth. According to the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), nearly 3 in 10 women (29%) and 1 in 10 men (10%) in the US have experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by a partner and reported it having a related impact on their functioning. Moreover Over 1 in 3 women (35.6%) and 1 in 4 men (28.5%) in the US have experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. For many, domestic violence leaves lasting scars, changing how survivors live, work, and see themselves.
Even more startling, over one in three women and one in four men have experienced violence or abuse from an intimate partner at some point in their lives. These numbers are not just statistics—they represent classmates, neighbors, family members, and friends.
But there is hope in unity. When we raise our voices together, we remind survivors that they are not alone. When we say “No,” we are saying “Yes” to healing, safety, and respect.
Z-Club invites everyone to stand in solidarity, to listen, to learn, and to take a stand against domestic violence. Together, we can help end the silence. Please wear purple this Thursday and check out our booth in the H-building quad for resources and information.
