Well panthers, I just got back from the 97th annual State Leadership Conference for California FFA in Sacramento, and I can assure you, it was a BLAST! If you don’t know what SLC is, it’s essentially a four day long conference that has seven sessions each. In every session, we had keynote speakers, retiring addresses (tears were shed!), and even state awards! At the very last session, our delegates elected our new 2025-2026 state officers! We had eight students and two advisors that attended this conference. All of us participated in the activities that were held at the Golden 1 Arena and SAFE Credit Convention Center.
Our 2024-2025 state officers were:
President: Camille Zavala
Vice President: John Dein
Secretary: Gianna Gonzalez
Treasurer: Melissa Lua-Duarte
Sentinel: Joshua Wolford
These officers opened and closed our six sessions, and they had a blast while on stage. DJ FFA was present at the start of every session and had a dance camera that we appeared on three times (on the first day too)! Our two delegates, Grace and Melody, were sitting on the floor and had the amazing opportunity to elect our new 2025-2026 state officers. We also had two of our students sign up for Courtesy Corp. (Andres and Melody), and they actually walked onto the stage for recognition. Flame Fest featured the main event: silent disco, workshops, the FFA store, other stores, information about colleges, line dancing, and carnival games! The state officers were also present at Flame Fest, and we got the opportunity to take pictures with some of them!
At the very end of Session 7, the new 2025-2026 state officers were announced:
President: Lily Vaughan
Vice President: Noah Stansai
Secretary: Ryan Taylor
Treasurer: Daren Deftereos
Reporter: Tessa Camacho
Sentinel: Sophia Camou
Congratulations to the new team, and we’re so excited to see what you guys come up with in the future! As for the 2024-2025 team, thank you for everything that you’ve done for our association. We all love you and we’re so proud of the amazing things that have come out of this officer team!
Our chapter had so much fun cheering for others, pinning people, giving out bracelets, and the vibe overall was so hype and loving. We want to extend out the same excitement to our chapter, and we hope everyone enjoys it!
