I believe cats are better than dogs for many reasons. First off, cats are much quieter than dogs. They won’t wake you up in the middle of the night with their obnoxious barking. Cats also require less exercise than dogs, and are also less expensive to care for. In fact, most cats are given to people for free. Cats also have good hunting instincts; they will often take care of any rodent problems that you may have. Cats are not as destructive, they won’t dig up your yard, or bite holes in your furniture. They may also relieve stress. According to Medium.com, studies show that having a cat can reduce your chance of heart attack by 40%. Unlike dogs, cats don’t require as much companionship; needing less attention from humans. Another reason I believe cats are better is because they don’t shed as much. I also think they are more enjoyable to pet, rather than dogs. Many people may also find themselves with the common misconception that dogs are smarter than cats, however, this is not true. According to Medium.com, this is only due to being domesticated at least 20,000 years earlier than cats.
