“Die with a smile” is a song released by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. Most were caught by surprise with this very unexpected duo. Although it was an unpredictable duo it has become a powerful collaboration and now their song leads with about 100 million streams worldwide. In the song they were going for 1970’s fashion, recreating Jolly Parton and Porter Wagoner. Lady Gaga said in an interview that this song was created  because “we wanted the world to have a love song.” This song touches on love, life and the desire to spend moments with the people we love.

The music video was introduced with Lady Gaga on the piano while Bruno Mars played the guitar. Bruno Mars starts the song by stating he had a dream where him and his partner had to say goodbye, ” I, I just woke up from a dream, where you and I had to say goodbye…” although it was a dream it had left an impact on him and makes him realize how beautiful love really is and losing his loved one becomes a fear. The lyrics also say that they should commit to loving each other fully as if it were their last night to live because life is uncertain: “Nobody’s promised tomorrow, so imma love you every night like it’s the last night…” The song also has a strong message stating that if the world were to end they would want to spend their last moments together, “If the world was ending I want to next to you…”  Lady Gaga then steps in and sings the verse, “And our love is the only one worth fighting for…,” this refers the reality of love and  the imperfection in relationships, yet despite the struggles their love is worth fighting for.
